Spring has definitely sprung here in the Treasure Valley and along with the beautiful flowers and trees, the people of Boise are blooming, out and about and taking advantage of the numerous activities in and around Boise.
It never ceases to amaze me when Winter leaves and the nice weather arrives, how active and busy our little city is. This can be seen throughout Boise; Saturday Farmer's Market, folks hanging outside at coffee shops throughout the downtown area, Camel's Back Park and other parks full of people enjoying the weather. It almost seems like two different cities when comparing Summer and Winter.
This is also the time of year when people are planning summer vacations, weekend activities and searching for daily entertainment. What plans do you have this summer? There certainly is no shortage of activities in Boise and no shortage of active people looking to take full advantage of the opportunities. Having been in Idaho now for almost 3 years I am making it a goal to try new things this summer in Boise, as well as exploring further outside of Boise. One of my favorite things about Boise is the numerous activities that are free or very cheap that you can take advantage of. Below is a shortlist of things that won't break your summer budget.
Hang out on 8th St. and people watch
Climb the hill at Camels Back Park
Enjoy the Ridge to Rivers Trail System
Go to Alive After Five and catch some great music
Check out the Saturday Farmer's Market
Float the Boise River
Take a walk or a ride on the Green Belt
If you live in Boise you probably are well aware of the fun activities that await. If you haven't experienced any of the above ideas, I recommend you check them out! Try something new and make it a great Summer in Boise!
